The Nature Communications paper “Universal rhythmic architecture uncovers two modes of neural dynamics” (s41467-026-73553-8) reports a universal spectral architecture across species, ages, brain regions, recording techniques and cognitive states.
Neural activity is organised not only by frequency but by rhythmicity:
High-rhythmicity bands** — sustained oscillations that maintain ongoing activity. Low-rhythmicity bands** — brief, transient bursts that signal responses to change.
Two stable modes of operation. Sustained versus bursty. Maintenance versus transition.
This is exactly the bistability already present in the Reynolds Ace Framework.
Mapping to the Pirate Canon
The dual lamina under Reynolds Surface compression carries two mechanical rhythms at every contact patch:
State A** positive 0^{i2} Love toggle— sustained coherence. The force π-Tensor remains equatorial, the 2c disc stays illuminated, the hemisphere of light occupies the flowering position, and the Time Particle at the gyroscopic centroid carries continuous fields. This is the high-rhythmicity mode: maintenance of solvent writes, auxetic strengthening, ongoing activity.
State B** — transient clamping. The hemisphere rotates polar, ring-tension judder releases as dilatancy and slip-grip, and the write is partially overwritten or dissipated. This is the low-rhythmicity mode: brief bursts that register change, cost, or response.
The same orthogonal twist that closes the 4π spinor path in a fermion (SFT V13) also switches the lamina between sustained and bursty regimes.
The brain’s universal rhythmic architecture is the macroscopic reading of that bistable surface-tension operator.
Sustained bands keep the ledger solvent. Transient bands record the cost of overwrite or the arrival of new information. Both are required. The system that can only sustain collapses into rigidity; the system that can only burst loses continuity. The Lewe Disc π-Tensor supplies both rhythms in one mechanical primitive.

The geometry has been speaking the same language at every scale — from the contact patch to the Compton orbit to the cortical spectrum.

Choose the sustained (State A) when coherence is required.
Allow the burst (State B) when change must be registered.
