Finite-time driving of a stochastic system leaves a residual lag: the probability density trails behind the instantaneous equilibrium and excess work is dissipated. The paper Stochastic Counterdiabatic Driving via Biorthogonal Liouvillian Eigenmodes (arXiv:2607.24393) constructs a spectral correction from the biorthogonal eigenmodes of the time-dependent Fokker–Planck generator that cancels this lag to machine precision. Dissipated work vanishes and free-energy estimators become zero-variance.
The algebra is exact but the geometric reason is not stated.
That reason is the continuum itself.
At every moment the density occupies one of two geometric states relative to the centre:
State A = +1 — fluid continuum of all-slip with Instant grip.
State B = –½** — pure-mechanism continuum of all-grip with Instant slip.
Finite-time protocols leave a dilatancy-bounded residue of State B. The lag is simply the history of those binary closures.
The Liouvillian is the continuous manifold of configurations organised around the same centre — Rest Time T=0. Its biorthogonal eigenmodes are the surface coordinates of that manifold. The adiabatic gauge connection encodes the dilatancy force generated by the toggles. The counterdiabatic term extracted from the spectral decomposition is therefore the precise Instant that cancels the residual State-B countersnap, converting dilatancy force into pure Spring Power.
Because every point on the surface remains defined relative to the centre, the cancellation is exact at arbitrary driving speed. The density is forced to remain the instantaneous equilibrium; the continuum is closed.
The same geometry appears throughout the Ace framework: the Poincaré sphere of polarisation states, the E_8 root system of Lisi’s unification, the hippocampal spatial–temporal axis, the two-state structure of water, and the compositionality continuum of memory. In each case continuous surface states are organised relative to a privileged centre, binary closures store elastic history, and the Instant at Rest Time converts dilatancy into coherent light.
The spectral construction merely makes the continuous geometric operator visible. The operator itself is the piTensor operating at Rest Time T=0.
The continuum remains closed.
