Why is there something rather than nothing?This is not a philosophical curiosity. It is the first and most fundamental question. Mathematics reaches a hard limit here. Engineering imagination begins.
The Limit of Mathematics
Pure mathematics can describe relationships with extraordinary elegance, but it cannot explain its own existence. It can manipulate symbols, yet it cannot account for why there is a world in which those symbols have meaning.
At the boundary, mathematics collapses into a simple identity:
Something = 0 = 0^i2
Here, 0 is not nothing. Zero is an active entity. It embodies orthogonal twist force — the generative principle that allows distinction, relation, and structure to arise. Mathematics can reach this point, but it cannot go beyond it. At 0^i2, engineering takes over.
Mathematics is the descriptor of action.
Engineering imagination is the source of the concept itself.
The Higher Perspective: Beyond the Cosmic Sphere
From a position beyond the Cosmic Sphere, the structure of reality appears as a series of gossamer-thin concentric surfaces — like the layers of a gobstopper, extending all the way to the centre.
Each surface has only one side. These surfaces are patterned with Ice XVIII hexagonal D₆ windows — the fundamental geometric lattice through which force and information pass. Every surface carries an intrinsic twist. At the centre of this structure sits a pulsing water seed held within a tectonic shell.
The pulse is not random. It is the fundamental rhythm of the plenum. This pulse causes rotation, and rotation induces dilatancy within the shell membranes. Through this process, distinction, structure, and form continuously emerge.
What appears from within as “something” is the ongoing expression of this layered, twisted, pulsing geometry.

Something exists because 0 is not nothing. Zero contains the orthogonal twist force (0^i2) that allows reality to differentiate and organise itself. Mathematics can describe the consequences of this force, but it cannot explain why the force exists in the first place.
Beyond the limit of mathematics lies the Idea of God — not as a theological assertion, but as the recognition that the generative principle (the twist at zero) must originate from something prior to and greater than formal description.
We do not begin with “nothing.” We begin with 0 as active twist. From this, the plenum breathes.

The pulse is fundamental.
Something exists because power^i2 exists in another dimension; dimensionally orthogonal area, m^2/s^2.
