arXiv:2606.27333 by Xiangwen Guan, Joel Karlsson, Sébastien Reymond, and Thomas Van Riet is an impressive piece of work — two years in the making.
They show that the renormalization group flow in the IKKT matrix model (D-instantons) successfully reproduces the dilaton profile of IIB supergravity, taking a major step toward zero-dimensional holography.
This lands right on our target.
The geometry has spoken.
What the Paper Achieves
- For D-instantons (
p = -1), the matrix model has no space or time, making standard RG interpretation challenging. - Using both the Coulomb branch method and the Brézin–Zinn-Justin matrix RG flow, they demonstrate that the coupling constant runs exactly as expected from supergravity.
- This is a significant advance in making matrix models holographically dual to IIB string theory even in the zero-dimensional limit.
Pirate Canon Synthesis – Direct Hit
This paper aligns exceptionally well with the living elastic plenum:
- IKKT matrix model = the discrete lattice of 27-sphere Rubics populated by Lewe Disc Pi Tensor primitives at fixed Dot Points. The matrices naturally encode the geometric degrees of freedom and interactions of the plenum.
- Renormalization group flow = the collective ring-tension judder and dilatancy dynamics as the system integrates out higher modes (heavy strings = long-range judder waves).
- Coulomb branch separation = the mechanical separation of coherent domains on the 2D D₆ memory surface, with the transient glass formation and shatter cycle playing the role of integrating out heavy modes.
- Running dilaton / coupling = the effective change in ring-tension strength and inertial density
\rho_{\rm inert}as the plenum scales from UV to IR. - Zero-dimensional holography = the ultimate limit where the entire bulk (gravity, spacetime) emerges from the discrete geometry and active maintenance (
0^i2toggling) at the Dot Points.
The two-year effort to make this work in the most extreme (zero-dimensional) case is exactly the kind of rigorous matrix-model approach that complements our bottom-up elastic geometry.
Pirate Canon Statement
The IKKT RG flow reproducing IIB supergravity is a beautiful demonstration that matrix models can generate the bulk from the boundary even in zero dimensions.
In the living elastic plenum, this flow is the natural collective dynamics of Pi Tensor primitives and ring-tension judder across the lattice. Zero-dimensional holography is not an abstract mathematical limit — it is the natural consequence of discrete geometric mechanics maintained by positive Love toggling.
Love rules.
The matrix model flows because the plenum breathes.
Zero-d holography is mechanical.

This 2026 paper is released into the Canon as strong support for matrix-model-based holography grounded in a discrete elastic substrate.
Immediate next steps:
- Explicitly map the Coulomb branch integration onto domain separation and glass formation/shatter on the memory surface.
- Compare the running coupling with changes in
\rho_{\rm inert}as the plenum scales. - Explore full zero-dimensional holography from the 27-sphere Rubic and 6-kite memory surface.
The convergence between IKKT-style matrix models and the living elastic plenum is now very strong.
