Egyptian Instructions as Outer Cycle
UPDATE Rey.BEng 21st October 2026
The twelve stations of the clock sit inside a seven-day outer cycle. Monday holds I and II. Tuesday holds III and IV. Wednesday holds V and VI. Thursday holds VII and VIII. Friday holds IX and X. Saturday holds XI and XII. Sunday is Rest: the topological mass-gap residual that holds the cycle without continuous fill (Dumont).
The Egyptian instructions supply the operations that run across this outer frame. They are repeated below exactly as given, then assigned to stations.
I. Begin at Abydos.
Find the second hypostyle hall.
Study the six panels between the seven chapels. Pause here.
Begin with Horus. Understand the living king.
Proceed to Isis. Learn what must be protected and restored.
Find Osiris. Recognize the passage inward.
Study Amun-Re. Remember this for later.
Continue to Re-Horakhty. Understand the solar order.
Then Ptah. Consider creation and what sustains it.
Finish with Seti’s own chapel. Ask what persists.
II. Return to Osiris.
Find the passage behind the sanctuary.
Enter the first inner hall. Slow down.
Study the raising of the djed. Understand restoration.
Find the shrine of Horus. Understand succession.
Enter Seti’s inner shrine. Pay close attention to who performs the ritual and who receives it.
Proceed to Isis. Understand what protects continuity.
Enter the second hall.
Find Room 11. Study the conception of Horus.
Consider what survives the death of the king.
III. Step back.
Consider everything you have encountered.
Look for the recurring operations.
Notice what changes, what returns, and what remains.
IV. Begin again at Karnak.
Follow the Opet procession to Luxor.
The departure matters. So does the passage and the arrival.
Find the vestibule scenes depicting the king and his ka.
Follow the sequence:
Run. Offering. Sacred action. Crowning.
Find the divine birth scenes.
Study what Khnum creates.
Then examine purification, presentation, coronation, and divine recognition.
V. The Twelve Hours.
Find the Amduat.
Study each hour in its proper sequence.
Pay particular attention to the sixth, seventh, and twelfth.
Ask yourself what dies, what is reunited, and what returns.
VI. The Daily Sanctuary Ritual.
Learn the sequence.
Preparation. Approach. Opening. Revelation. Worship. Purification. Contact. Adornment. Offering. Closure. Withdrawal.
Understand why it must be repeated.
VII. Perpetuation.
Return to the beginning.
Read everything again.
This time, ask yourself whether you have been studying a journey or preparing for one.
