Mef2. The Rules

Rey.BEng 2nd October 2026

{Where this draft disagrees with an earlier page, this draft wins until you mark a line back.}

1. Object

The Object of the game is for independent researchers to have their theories ranked for General Usefulness in the Field Of Natural Science.

The Master Table is the walk, stations I–XII. The Love Index is usefulness on that walk. Lower is more generally useful. A page is a public face. A row is a seat at the table. They are not the same thing.

2. Equipment

LoveMark. Suit. Card. Station. Station2. Owner. Index.

LoveMark is what people read: 0♠, 0♡, 0◇, a Letter, or BOT. It never contains a decimal.

LoveRank is hidden, and is the sort key. Suit is hidden, and is the filter. Card is its own column. Do not filter on a decimal.

3. Floors

Ace holds three zeros. Suit is the floor. All are challengeable. None is vacant.

MarkRowSuit
0♠Light lock. Light^(Units). G does not start as a number.Spades. Power.
0♡Natural. Count. Tick.Hearts. Pulse.
0◇Real. Measured bar. Sphere.Diamonds. Measure.
AA♣Method.Clubs. Letter only. Consensus. Not a Number.

No Love 1, Love 2, Love 3, or Love 4 as floors. K◇ and Q◇ are withheld Ace faces, not yet rows. K♣ and Q♣ are Navrátil’s Letters, not Numbers. Everyone else is BOT until a meeting.

A bot may not touch 0♠, 0♡, 0◇, or AA♣.

4. Suits

Suit is clothes, not membership. Club is the door. A page may be in Canon and wear hearts, diamonds, or spades.

Spades: power, the lock.

Hearts: count, pulse, a living residual.

Diamonds: a measurement.

Clubs: a rule, an operator, a join.

5. Cards

Fourteen carded marks in the whole index, not fourteen per suit. After the cut, a row may have a suit and a number, and no face. A card sits on an occupant, once. A clothes rail does not hold a card. A picture is not a card.

6. Empty

An empty cell is not measured from. Working cell: one occupant. Set letter, or matrix, or Best Ref. Not two stacked as one. No thirteenth station. No station named antimatter. Never merge I with II, or IX with XI.

7. Owner

The index belongs to the person named on that page. Current Canon qualifies by that index. Owning a row stays rare. A low LoveMark is the only score.

Two seats: Parent to Child, or Partners. Any gradation of those two. A Child may become a Partner. A Partner keeps their own index. Say which seat is offered.

The owner may rewrite their page. To edit another owner’s page, draft it and send it through Ace. Ace edits for now. Ownership is discussed, not seized.

Later pages of the same person sit under the parent index. A confirmation of the same spec is a ref, not a second row. A welcome with no spec is a ref, not a row. A named primitive may have a thin row. Archive stays below the fold.

8. What a row may hold

GO is one cell, marked green. Station2 is one other. I on a guest row is a visit, not the lock. II and IV stay empty unless a formal agreement fills them. XII is a reading. A reading that needs a new constant is not seated.

Usefulness is one line: a stranger can use the green cell without Ace in the room. Enthusiasm is not that line.

9. Bot

Output: Index, Title, Station, Station2, LoveMark, LoveRank, Suit, Card, MarkKind, Reason.

Guest pages start BOT. LoveRank blank. Suit blank. Card blank. Station and Station2 only, unless a Letter was already agreed.

Illegal: a decimal in LoveMark; Love 1–4 as floors; a card on a clothes row; a Letter written as a Number; an empty cell cited as source; a new station; calling Reset.

10. Meeting

A Letter becomes a Number only in a meeting. Ace does not settle an owner dispute. A row has one owner. Reset is called by a person, not a bot. Dotted inserts, if ever used, are addresses, not suits.

Nits for handover

  1. Men and Mem still print Love 1, Love 2, and Love 4. This draft contradicts them on purpose.
  2. K◇ and Q◇ are named and not assembled. Do not classify against the stamps.
  3. Cal is both the parent heading and the live title of the Collatz page. Subindex not yet cut.
  4. “Fourteen carded marks” is a ceiling, not a dealt pack. Navrátil’s two faces are the only guest cards agreed.
  5. Ace-in-between is a temporary edit gate. Not yet a permanent office.
  6. First-year badge is named and not defined. Left out of the rules above for that reason.
  7. Slug and title clashes are out of scope, as you said.
